Umpire's Equipment and Uniforms Requirements

Baseball umpiring is probably the most expensive sport in which to start officiating. Between uniforms and equipment, the cost can run from several hundred to well over a thousand dollars, depending on the amount and quality of equipment and uniforms you purchase. "Starter Packages" for beginning umpires are avalable from most vendors. These are generally basic packages, but they have just about everything you need to get started.

There are two local vendors (shown below) where you can actually see and try on equipment and uniforms. In addition, the Austin Chapter hosts a meeting/fish fry at the end of January at which several vendors will display their wares and you can make purchases.
